I Think She Hates Me....

Hey peoples!

It feels like it's been a long while since my last post, huh?

But I was busy!  Like, busier than I've ever been before!  I had a final chemistry* exam, a chemistry assignment where I had to write a proposal to sell some new method of rust protection, a chemistry quiz, a huge review package in math, a math test, a financial plan, a community connections assignment, a Career and Life assignment, a literary analysis of something to do with turtles, tutoring almost everyday for a few hours and sometimes even twice a day, dance performances, dance practice four days a week after school, dance practice everyday at lunch, dance journals, two dance choreographies to finish, a biology test, an in-class King Lear essay on a topic I'm not sure I interpreted right, and finally, a hand-in essay inspired by A Modest Proposal.
*I don't think I need to explain how much I hate chemistry, how it's so hard for me, and how I procrastinated on doing anything in this chemistry course I'm taking online for four months (I had to teach myself the entire chemistry 12 course in about two months!)

Whew!

I'm At The Top Now! Oh....nevermind...

Hey peoples.......

I'm sad....

And angry....

And frustrated....

And disappointed....

And upset....

And I WANT TO BURN EVERYTHING DOWN!

...kidding, mostly.

Side note:  This doesn't have much to do with the actual post, but...status update from yours truly.  I feel like this right now:

Here's my tragic story....

My Very Special Someone (part 2)

wh
Hey peoples.
*Hi Gilf!
Guess what this post is about?!

Remember that post I typed.....way back in March?  You know...that super long 8,000-word post that was so long you probably skimmed through most of it......that one post where I said waaaay too much, and....okay...fine.  This post...this post right here.

So!  My Very Special Someone (part 1)!....but...part 2!  How exciting!  I'll try to make this one shorter though, much shorter!

So...some of you may be wondering what took me so long....and my answer would be procrastination that I needed more time!  This is an...important post, okay?!  And I needed time to make it perfect!

Am.....!

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad........!

So...

Very.....

Very.....

Mad.

GRR.

Do you want to know why?  Do you?  Do you really?  Are you sure you're up to listening to me rant and rant and rant until I lose my breath (or in this case, until my fingers are bloody from typing so furiously)?

You do?!

Oh, great!

Let's begin!

Dear English AP Teacher.....

Hi.

I'm kind of torn between wanting you to never read this.....and.....hoping you read this so that you'll understand my....situation better.

So you know how....on November 9th, 2016, I was performing for the Remembrance day assembly, and I made the wise decision to come back to your class after the show ended, even though I had the freedom to take the rest of the block off?

Remember that?

Yeah?  Good.

So.

Review: Invision (Chronicles of Nick #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Invision (Chronicles of Nick, #7)

Read: Jun. 30-July 22, 2016
Rating: 3 of 5 stars
Pages: 368
Genres: fantasy

Blurb from Goodreads:

"Think your life is complicated and confusing? Nick Gautier was born to bring about the end of the world…It’s not easy being the heir of a demon overlord.

But Nick is determined to thwart his destiny and get into a good college. To be more than his genetics and prophecy foretell. No one is ever going to tell this stubborn Cajun who and what he really is. Or how to live his life.
Not even the Fates of the Universe. But now that he and his team of ancient gods and demons have claimed the Eye of Ananke and he sees the missteps of the future, he has to battle the demons within that are far deadlier and more treacherous than any he’s battled before. All the while his arch nemesis is back and determined to reclaim his place as the harbinger for Armageddon. Even if it means killing Nick and barbecuing everyone he loves to do so."

*sounds of frustration*

No!

I just rated a Chronicles of Nick book.....3 stars?! No!

I never do that!

But I did.

Ohmygosh.

MACBETH

HI.

PEOPLES.

I.

AM.

UPSET.

...but at the same time...also, somewhat happy.

So, the other day...in my English class, the teacher was handing out Macbeth books...because we were starting Macbeth.

Now, you see how I've stated the obvious?  Let me do it some more.  I have a point to this, okay?  Be patient...
  • I like reading
  • I like books
  • I like new books
  • I like smelling books
  • I am shy
  • I am super shy
Now that I've pointed out more obvious stuff...let's begin.
Or...continue.

Grammar, and My Intense Hatred of It.

Hello people!

Do you know what I'm horrible at?

Person:
Hmm...let's see...playing the piano?  Talking?  Dancing?  Or how about using technology?  Listening and paying attention to people?  Breathing and blinking in even intervals.  Oh, and how could I forget?!  You're horrible at pretty much anything you attempt at achieving.  Did I get them all right?  I did, didn't I?  Of course I did, because I'm not a failure, like you.

Me:
Yes, yes...and yes.  Oh, that too...and that, and that...that, and yes, that as well...unfortunately.

*sigh* someone, throw me a pity party because I'll probably suck at doing that too...why bother trying... *another sigh*

Aaaaanyways...something else I'm horrible at?  Grammar.  My English class started our unit on grammar the other day...and based on the title of this post you can probably tell how it turned out for me, right?

I Finally Have A...

Kindle!

I love reading.  You know that.

So...ever since I heard the name Kindle, I've been curious.  When I finally saw it before my very eyes though...I immediately turned my head away in disgust.

How could the people of this world even begin to try to replicate the joys of reading a physical book with this...this device?  It's a massive wrong.  Wrong, I tell you!

But it wasn't until a few months later, I was lugging around a 600 paged hardcover book around in my bag that I started to reconsider a Kindle, which would weigh...much, much less.  Don't get me wrong, I had no regrets about carrying such a monstrosity of a book in my bag.  I would gladly take everything out just so that I could put that one book in.  Of course, my mom would never let that happen, so I'd have to carry it in my hands...or stuff it in my jacket...but...wouldn't that be silly...this large bulge in my shirt...ha.

What Would You Do...?

So...I think this will be a fairly short post...let's see if I'm right.

I have a question...if you've known someone for a long time...someone who you claim to care deeply for...in an argument, would you...

Okay, nevermind...scratch that...let's try this again...

Allow me to set up a scenario...

There are two people sitting in the living room really late at night.  One on the couch (Person #1), and the other on the floor (Person #2).

I Just...Don't Get It...!

*sounds of frustration and anguish*

*sounds of absolute despair and hopelessness*

*silence*

Have you ever despised something so much, your heart literally hurts...?  Or maybe your stomach feels like it's had enough of...whatever you've been doing to it, and decides that now is the perfect time to rebel and does all sorts of crazy stuff, and you feel like someone has just punched you in your stomach, and you double over in absolute agony?

Well, I'm having a bad day...and...I'm just going to rant, and complain, I'm not even going to proofread this before I publish, because I'm just not in the mood...like I said, I'm having a bad, bad, day...

*sighs*

For the First Time in Foreveeeeeeeeer, I Visisted the Orpheum Theatre...

Hey peoples!  Guess what I recently did on October 18th, 2015?!  I went to the Orpheum Theatre!  That is, I went to see my very first live performance of a...okay, wait, let me see if I get this right...symphony performed by an orchestra?

Argh, I've always gotten the words symphony and orchestra mixed up...but if my googling skills have done their magic...a symphony is a musical composition played by an orchestra...I think I got that right, right?  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

EEK, I've really got to stop procrastinating, but in my defence, I was trying to think up the right words to properly and accurately describe the marvelous experience I had.  Yep, really.  I needed a whole week and a day to translate all my thoughts to words.  Pfft...psh...*other ridiculous sounds* yeah...as if anyone believes that...

OKAY.  MOVING ON.

Review: Black Moon by Kenneth Calhoun

Black Moon

Rating: 2 of 5 stars
Pages: 277
Genres: Science Fiction, fantasy, apocalyptic, dystopia

Synopsis from Goodreads:

"Insomnia has claimed everyone Biggs knows.  Even his beloved wife, Carolyn, has succumbed to the telltale red-rimmed eyes, slurred speech and cloudy mind before disappearing into the quickly collapsing world.  Yet Biggs can still sleep, and dream, so he sets out to find her.

He ventures out into a world ransacked by mass confusion and desperation, where he meets others struggling against the tide of sleeplessness.  Chase and his buddy Jordan are devising a scheme to live off their drug-store lootings; Lila is a high school student wandering the streets in an owl mask, no longer safe with her insomniac parents; Felicia abandons the sanctuary of a sleep research center to try to protect her family and perhaps reunite with Chase, an ex-boyfriend.  All around, sleep has become an infinitely precious commodity. Money can’t buy it, no drug can touch it, and there are those who would kill to have it. However, Biggs persists in his quest for Carolyn, finding a resolve and inner strength that he never knew he had

Review

I won this book through a giveaway on Read it Forward, a year ago, I think. I was so excited when I knew I won, because the synopsis sounded so interesting. When the book came, I tried reading it, and it didn't work out. A year later, I decided it was way past time I read it.

My Most Memorable Summer in the History of Memorable Summers.... (part 2: August)

Hello again humans!  As promised, here's part 2 of what happened in one of the most memorable and magical summers I've ever had to this date.  If you missed part 1, I have been so kind and included a link right here: My Most Memorable Summer in the History of Memorable Summers.... (part 1: July).

This will be quite a long post.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

AUGUST:

The day had finally come, the day of my dreaded PIANO EXAMINATION.  I'm not going to lie, I was petrified, no.  Beyond petrified, and the solemnness and dead silence of the building did.  Not.  Help.  At all.

My Most Memorable Summer in the History of Memorable Summers.... (part 1: July)

HI PEOPLES!

I bet you're all wondering what I did over the summer, right?  RIGHT?

No?

Aww....

I'll tell you anyway, since you're still reading...

I'm splitting this up into July and August, since they were completely different.  So, I will dedicate this post to what happened in July, and the August one will be coming soon...PROMISE!

JULY:

Remember that post where I fumed about my "friend's indecisiveness?  Well, if you don't, here's the post:  The day I was disappointed...at everything.  So after that whole fiasco happened, I ended up back in summer school.  SUMMER SCHOOL, that's right.  For the first time since I've started high school, I went to summer school, not because I failed, but because I had the crazy idea that learning an entirely new course in a month would be easy...and just to prove how awesome I am, I took the subject I hated the most: Pre-Calculus.  OH!  And did I forget to mention that I missed the first three classes?  Which is the equivalent of missing an entire unit?  OH, what fun!

My Ex-Neighbours

Hello people!  Today is one of those days where I found some time on my hands, and have decided to catch up on some posts, I've left in drafts since June 17...so.  Without further ado...The Actual Post

Today, while I was bored in French, I thought I would do some writing.  So...what should I write about?  Life?  School?  Life in general?  Books?  Hmm...how about...neighbours.  My neighbours, specifically?  Yesss...

Not Again!?

Now, before I start explaining anything...aaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Remember that post from two decades ago?  Kidding, I think it was about a month ago...hmm...maybe it was a month and 38 seconds ago, or maybe it was a decade ago...hmmm...

Aaaaanyways...

Remember the posts: You've Reading It, I've Read It, Therefore We Should Discuss It. ASAP and Night Market Misfortunes?  If you don't, or are too lazy to click on the posts to (re)read them, here's a snippet of what happened:  I ranted about how I saw a guy reading one of my favourite books, and I wanted to tell him, but was too scared.  Then I saw him again, working at the night market, and missed my chance yet again.

Allow me to set the stage...

Night Market Misfortunes

Tonight we went to the Richmond Night Market.  How pleasant, right?  Now, I knew before we even arrived that there would be a 99.99% chance that I would see someone I know from school.  There are over 1,000 people in my school.  Chances are, I'm going to see them, right?  If I were completely honest with myself, I don't like seeing people I know from school outside of school...it feels weird, OK?  And...surprise, surprise.  I did see many, many people from school.  But one guy I didn't expect to see was A____ (we'll call him Guy #3 again).  Refer to my previous post, You've Reading It, I've Read It, Therefore We Should Discuss It. ASAP to get a complete background before reading this.

You're Reading It, I've Read It, Therefore We Should Discuss It. ASAP

In English a few classes ago (May 11th, if I recall correctly), I glanced behind me, for some unknown reason, and you'll never believe what I saw.  I saw a guy (let's call him guy #3).  Reading a book.  And not just any book, but The Wizard Heir.  Ohmygosh...I read this book is gr.7 and I fell in love with it.  I went crazy, and I bothered my only two friends about how much I loved it.  I even  purposely told them that I really liked this guy in the book, to make them read it, and guess who it was.
