Review: Shadow Falls Series by C.C Hunter

I'm compiling my reviews for the different books in this series to this...long post with...uuuuuh....words are failing me right now...so I'll just get on with this.  So!  This series starts with Born at Midnight where a girl with strange abilities goes to a camp with strange people who also have strange abilities.  But even here, this girl still can't fit in.  Keep in mind that the first book I read was in 2013, so the review might not be all that great....all I did was copy and paste my review from 2013...really....have fun reading my thoughts as a little squealing girl who hasn't read much...so has really low expectations...
*actually...my first review is kinda sad...even as a fourteen year old...my writing sucked.....uuuuuuuuuugh....don't look at me like that........

Future Posts...

Helllllloooooooo readers!

It's late January, yes...I know...but here are some of my attempted resolutions for the new year.

I still can't believe it's 2016...and you know what's odd?

The fact that I'm not writing 2015 instead of 2016, noooo, instead, I'm writing July...2016.  WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?  Also, I am soooooo not prepared to face the new year...you know how some people take the new year head on and make all sorts of impressive resolutions saying, "this year will be better"?  Yeah...I'm not one of those people...I want to go back to 2010 and hide there forever...no homework...no stress...no worries, no...other stuff.

Anyhoo....

Now, as you people all know, procrastination is a dear friend of mine...BUT, I have many posts planned for 2016...assuming I'll get to them at all...here's a "sneak peek"...

*some of you people may be wondering, why don't you just WRITE the posts instead of TELLING us you're going to write it?  To those people I would say, hey...I'm procrastinating the writing of posts by writing a post about what I will post.  Deal with it.  Hmph.

My Blog Stats for 2015!

Hey guys! Girls, too! But...that is how the saying usually goes, right? I didn't mean to just greet the males who read my blog...I meant...I mean, I know there are females who read this blog too, but...oh, you know what I mean…

So! Remember that post about my reading stats for 2015? Well, here are my blog stats for 2015, I meant to do this earlier, but procrastination....

So I guess I'll start with a list of sorts...?

Grammar, and My Intense Hatred of It.

Hello people!

Do you know what I'm horrible at?

Person:
Hmm...let's see...playing the piano?  Talking?  Dancing?  Or how about using technology?  Listening and paying attention to people?  Breathing and blinking in even intervals.  Oh, and how could I forget?!  You're horrible at pretty much anything you attempt at achieving.  Did I get them all right?  I did, didn't I?  Of course I did, because I'm not a failure, like you.

Me:
Yes, yes...and yes.  Oh, that too...and that, and that...that, and yes, that as well...unfortunately.

*sigh* someone, throw me a pity party because I'll probably suck at doing that too...why bother trying... *another sigh*

Aaaaanyways...something else I'm horrible at?  Grammar.  My English class started our unit on grammar the other day...and based on the title of this post you can probably tell how it turned out for me, right?

Bloglovin!

Hello people!

Have you ever heard of Bloglovin?

Well, in case you haven't...it's...ah, who am I kidding, I'm not good at explaining stuff, I'll just make a big mess out of it.   Google "bloglovin" if you're really curious.

I've been following blogs on Bloglovin for a year (maybe two) now.  I'm following over 600 blogs...but shh...I do have a life, okay?

I may have discovered Bloglovin over a year ago, but I've only just discovered that I can "claim" my blog...I searched up the link for my blog, and what do you know!  It's there!  So I claimed it.  Woo!

Anyhoo...in order to claim it, I had to put the link below somewhere in a blog post...so...ta da!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

You don't actually have to follow my blog with Bloglovin (duh), in fact, feel free to blatantly ignore this post...it's just here for...reasons.

So...to make this post even more unnecessary, please forget you ever read this post.....

*gestures mysteriously around you*

fooooooooorgeeeeeeeeet.........fooooooooorrrrrrrrrgeeeeeeeet..................!

My Reading Stats for 2015!

Hey people!

I like to read.

I like to read books.

I read lots of books this year.
Err...I mean, last year...pardon my mistake.

And my sentence combining capabilities are clearly lacking.

Review: Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden

Three Day RoadRead: Dec. 28, 2015 to Jan. 10, 2016
Rating: 3 of 5 stars
Pages: 408
Genres: Historical Fiction (Canada), War

Blurb from Goodreads:

"It is 1919, and Niska, the last Oji-Cree medicine woman to live off the land, has received word that one of the two boys she grudgingly saw off to war has returned. She leaves her home in the bush of Northern Ontario to retrieve him, only to discover that the one she expected is actually the other.

Xavier Bird, her sole living relation, gravely wounded and addicted to the army’s morphine, hovers somewhere between the living world and that of the dead. As Niska paddles him the three days home, she realizes that all she can offer in her attempt to keep him alive is her words, the stories of her life.

In turn, Xavier relates the horrifying years of war in Europe: he and his best friend, Elijah Whiskeyjack, prowled the battlefields of France and Belgium as snipers of enormous skill. As their reputations grew, the two young men, with their hand-sewn moccasins and extraordinary marksmanship, became both the pride and fear of their regiment as they stalked the ripe killing fields of Ypres and the Somme.

Inspired in part by real-life World War I Ojibwa hero Francis Pegahmagabow, Three Day Road is beautifully written and told with unblinking focus, it is a remarkable tale, one of brutality, survival, and rebirth."

I Can Smell You...

Okay, so here's a weird fact about me: I like to sniff things.

Yes, yes, very weird...but let's not dwell on what you're probably starting to imagine or think: what have you been poking your nose into?  Or...what have you been sniffing?

Moving on.

I honestly don't know when it first started...although I do know that I wasn't always so...sniffy.  I also know that this is a bad habit...and I'm...not really working toward amending this habit of mine.  My mom keeps telling me that I should stop because one day, I will sniff something, or many somethings, and it will be very, very bad...mold might find its way up my nose, or something equally horrifying...okay, eww...I could have phrased that better...

I Finally Have A...

Kindle!

I love reading.  You know that.

So...ever since I heard the name Kindle, I've been curious.  When I finally saw it before my very eyes though...I immediately turned my head away in disgust.

How could the people of this world even begin to try to replicate the joys of reading a physical book with this...this device?  It's a massive wrong.  Wrong, I tell you!

But it wasn't until a few months later, I was lugging around a 600 paged hardcover book around in my bag that I started to reconsider a Kindle, which would weigh...much, much less.  Don't get me wrong, I had no regrets about carrying such a monstrosity of a book in my bag.  I would gladly take everything out just so that I could put that one book in.  Of course, my mom would never let that happen, so I'd have to carry it in my hands...or stuff it in my jacket...but...wouldn't that be silly...this large bulge in my shirt...ha.

Mintvine

Hello dear readers!

This...is a strange kind of post...I say strange because I'll be introducing to you...not a book, but this site that I've been making money from.  And by money, I mean Amazon giftcards.

Now, before you lovely readers all start running away shouting, "FAKE!"...well...if you were going to run from me, you would have already done so...huh?

Aaanyways...I'll just start my little post now, and heh, it's your lost of you decide it's fake and move on....

So, a while ago...I had this phase where I was obsessed with online survey sites and earning money from them.  When I was just a kid, (okay, fine...it wasn't that long ago), my mom would give me these surveys to do because she was too lazy to do them.  Those surveys would earn her airmiles, or points that would convert to airmiles.  After doing a few of them, I decided that I was tired of earning points for my mom*.  I wanted to earn my own.

*I'd always be yelling, "Mama, what's our annual household income?!  Mama, what's a carbonated drink?  Do we have those?  Do we drink them?  How many times a week do we drink them?  Do we have special kinds?  How much are you willing to pay for them?  When was the last time you bought them?  What method of payment did you use, and why?  Which one is your favourite?  Least favourite?  What year was Daddy born?  Does he have a bad health?  What's your health history like...?"  It would go on and on, and on and on...until she got so tired of it...hee hee!

Hello? Blogger? I've Got Good News...

Well hello there people!

Have you ever heard of WordPress?  In case you haven't, it's pretty much the same as Blogger.  When I first decided to start a blog, I chose Blogger, but then somewhere along the way, I decided that I'd also like to try WordPress, to see which one my indecisive mind would like more.
