Tiny (Text)Books for School

Okay, so....yes, I confess...that title is slightly misleading because although some of these books may be tiny (compared to...say, the world, perhaps), they aren't the tiny you're thinking about. By tiny, I mean....my reviews for them are tiny and lackluster, and....who am I kidding...it feels like the blurb is longer than my review! Aaah! That's...just....depressing. Maybe I've grown out of writing reviews....I'm running out of things to say...and....maybe...maybe...maybe it's time for me to just give up on writing reviews altogether?! Anyways....this post isn't about that....so....I don't know....here ya go...some TINY REVIEWS....

Two Really Short Reviews

Peoples, I have here, two very short reviews.  Why am I choosing to combine two reviews, you ask?

Because they are very short.  That's why.  Don't think too much of it.

This first one was a classic, and kinda short....not that interesting...so...short review.  The next one....I really only thouroughly read a few pages of, so...also, short review.

Let's begin.

Review: Oedipus Rex by Sophocles

Oedipus Rex

Read: October 31-November 1, 2016
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Format: Paperback, 154 pages
Publication: May 2011 by University of Wisconsin Press
Genres: tragedy, classic, play, poetry

Blurb from Goodreads:

"Oedipus Rex is the greatest of the Greek tragedies, a profound meditation on the human condition. The story of the mythological king, who is doomed to kill his father and marry his mother, has resonated in world culture for almost 2,500 years. But Sophocles’ drama as originally performed was much more than a great story—it was a superb poetic script and exciting theatrical experience. The actors spoke in pulsing rhythms with hypnotic forward momentum, making it hard for audiences to look away. Interspersed among the verbal rants and duels were energetic songs performed by the chorus."

Guys! This is the first classic novel...wait, no...this isn't quite a novel....it's a play!  I've given 4 stars to!

Celebrate with me!

I finally found a classic novel....that I appreciated!

I Am With Child...?

Soooo, this is one of those late posts I've been meaning to write...way back in June?

I'm hoping for this to be a fairly short post, because, well...I need to go back to nurturing my to-be child?

A few months ago, I was struck with wonderful inspiration, and proceeded to take advantage of it as much as possible.  A few months later...I had given life!  And became a parent!

I was super duper proud of how it turned out, but I definitely had second thoughts while incubating my precious...I kept thinking, what if they don't like it?  What if I've made a mistake?

...I have four things to mention...

Hello again people! Gosh, keeping up a blog is hard work.  I could easily just be lazy and never write here again.  For those of you who actually read what I write, try to leave a comment below with your thoughts on whether it's worth keeping a blog, or not.

*I say try because blogging is new and foreign to me, so leaving a comment below with let me know that I did something right.  You can do this one little thing for me, right?

Coffee House

Hello again people!
Today, I did something very, very strange, and I'm not exactly sure why I did it.
I recited two poems I wrote at my school's annual coffee house.  And they were two really, really long ones.  Like ridiculously long ones.
While I recited my poem, my hands were shaking so much, even though I kept telling myself I wasn't nervous, my hands just wouldn't listen.  Gah!  Stupid good for nothing hands!

While I was waiting for my turn, I was so nervous, and at times, had trouble breathing.

If I wasn't doing what the guy above me is doing,
I'd be doing what this girl is doing

Altogether, the waiting and the anticipation was not at all pleasant.

But!  When I finished, I felt so proud of myself, I managed to do it without humiliating myself in front of a bunch of people.  Although, I seriously hope I didn't bore people too much.
I deserve pats on the shoulder, just like that :)
Yes, very well said...I couldn't put it any better myself.

Um, I overdid it with the GIFs, didn't I?  Ah well, it's better than just plain old texts, am I right, or am I right?
