Buzzfeed, You're Awesome

Once again, Buzzfeed has made my day.  I read a post from Buzzfeed called 27 Completely Innoncent Images That Will Bother You For Some Reason.  These were some of my favourites, but you can click here to see more.  :)

The strange uniformity of these bubbles:
These bubbles scare me.  A lot.  Have I ever mentioned I have a phobia?  Trypophobia, to be exact.
I get the shivers just thinking of it...

Review: The Dark Elements Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout
White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1)
Read: February 21-March 6, 2015
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars

Hmmm...actually, 3.5 stars...
This book, along with all the books I read, has been on by TBR for a really long time. I never gave much though about Jennifer L. Armentrout's books, but recently, I heard and saw a lot about her, and I wanted to read one of her books. I thought this was a good a book as any to start with so...

Reading Buddies :) ----> :( ----> D :

On Tuesday 21st, 2015, I went to my first session of Reading Buddies, and actually read to a "little buddy".  I was a bit nervous, but I made it through.
When I first got there at 3:45, I spent 15 min, anxiously waiting for the kids to arrive.  Wouldn't it have been extremely awkward if you had a group of teens, sanding there, waiting for kids who never came?  Yes, it would.

Review: Beautiful Series by Jamie McGuire

Ohmygosh!  I absolutely loved the Beautiful series!  Granted, this was my first "adult" novel, so I may have overreacted at the "adult" parts, but nonetheless, I really enjoyed it.

Short Reviews

Here are some short reviews, as mentioned in the title.  Before I knew what reviews were, whenever I was asked for my thoughts about a book, I didn't analyze everything (like I sometimes do now), I literally just word vomited everything that came to mind, which wasn't much (you'll see what I mean).  But now that I have a much better idea of what I'm doing, I'd like to think my reviews have improved.

But, here are some reviews that a very inexperienced me wrote many months ago...keep in mind that the ones I have here are only the ones I deem worthy of showing you.  I have some pretty embarrassing reviews that I will probably never post up.  I might find some more short reviews and post them later, but for now, I present my short reviews :)

Hmm...I wonder...

I've been thinking....did you know that there is something very similar to Blogger, but it's called WordPress?

I love Blogger, but I thought it'd be cool to try this blogging thing on WordPress.  I tried setting up a blog there, and it's confusing.  It's so much more complicated, and complex.  I love Blogger for it's simplicity, but WordPress seems so much more...customizable...Hmm...to switch or not to switch?  That is the question...

For now, I guess I'll just use both, and if I find one that suits me more than the other, then....

Can you find it, my other blog?  If you do find it, you'll see/know what I mean, it looks a lot better.  I might even post some things on there that  I won't post on here...

*on a side note, I made it through a post without using any gifs! Huzzah!

...I have four things to mention...

Hello again people! Gosh, keeping up a blog is hard work.  I could easily just be lazy and never write here again.  For those of you who actually read what I write, try to leave a comment below with your thoughts on whether it's worth keeping a blog, or not.

*I say try because blogging is new and foreign to me, so leaving a comment below with let me know that I did something right.  You can do this one little thing for me, right?

Buzzfeed

I love Buzzfeed.  I found and subscribed to the site a long time ago, and have not once regretted it once.  I love the posts they write.  The one I got today was no exception.  The title was 33 Impossibly Satisfying Food Photos.  Here are some that I really loved:

I think this is a cake...

Review: Boys that Bite (Blood Coven Vampire, #1) by Mari Mancusi

Boys that Bite by Mari Mancusi
Read: September 19-21, 2014
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Wow! I was not expecting such a good book...
Boys that Bite is about Sunny and Rayne, twins that are complete opposites. One night, Rayne convinces Sunny to go to Club Fang and Sunny gets bit by Magnus, a vampire, and will turn into a full vampire by the end of the week. Something that should have happened to Rayne, who has been training for months to become a vampire. Now, Magnus and Sunny go on a hunt for the special relic that will turn Sunny back to human. Along the way, Magnus and Sunny start to fall for each other.
I loved this book! I finished in about a day and a half (which is pretty fast for me). I liked that Sunny had her twin sister to rely on, instead of keeping it all to herself. But the language was a bit too...ah, immature, for my tastes. But still a great read.
I will definitely read the next book.

Stuff That Happened Today

Today started out as any other normal school day did, BUT, starting in second period, stuff happened...amazing , wonderful stuff...

Review: The Anna Series by Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1)
Read: September 21-October 9, 2014
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Anna Dressed in Blood, was a surprisingly good read.
This book is about Cas and Anna. Cas always moves from place to place, killing dangerous ghosts with his athame, never staying long enough to make any friends, but when it comes to Anna, he can't kill her and move on to the next ghost, she's too strong. When he's with her though, Anna doesn't have the urge to kill him for some reason. So Cas tries to learn more about Anna and what makes her different from other ghosts. While doing so, he gains friends, Carmel and Thomas, to help him. When they finally figure out Anna's story, another problem arrives that threatens his life. But with the help of his friends, and Anna, he manages to survive the day.
I don't usually read horror novels, partly because I'm such a scaredy cat, but this book wasn't as scary as I thought. At times, I cringed a little, but it was nothing compared to how I scream my head off when watching horror films. Anyways, this book was great, and I'll definitely be reading the next one.

Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2)
Read: December 31, 2014-January 17, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Really good. In Girl of Nightmares, Cas tries to live a normal life after Anna dragged the Obeahman to the other side. But he can't. He starts seeing visions of her being tortured, and Cas believes this is trying Anna to get his attention. Cas thinks that Anna needs his help, and Anna is not where she is supposed to be. So, Cas tries to find a way to open a door to the other side to get Anna back. But there is a group of people who don't want that to happen, they believe that it is wrong to bring someone back from the other side, and that Cas has tainted the purpose of the athame by deciding who to kill (instead of just killing every ghost he sees). They've even trained a replacement for him, named Jestine.

What I liked: Jestine's personality. I got so used to Cas, Carmel, and Thomas as a team, so when Jestine was introduced into the book, I was surprized, but I thought Jestine was a nice addition to their group. She made things seem lighter, and made the story more interesting.

What I disliked: Although this book was awesome, I still feel that it wasn't as great as the first one, which had more action in it. Another thing I was slightly upset about was how Jestine and Cas ended off. From what I've read, I don't think they will be keeping in touch...which sucks.
I'm sad to see this series end, and I hope there will be more, but if not, Girl of Nightmares had a wonderful ending.

Coffee House

Hello again people!
Today, I did something very, very strange, and I'm not exactly sure why I did it.
I recited two poems I wrote at my school's annual coffee house.  And they were two really, really long ones.  Like ridiculously long ones.
While I recited my poem, my hands were shaking so much, even though I kept telling myself I wasn't nervous, my hands just wouldn't listen.  Gah!  Stupid good for nothing hands!

While I was waiting for my turn, I was so nervous, and at times, had trouble breathing.

If I wasn't doing what the guy above me is doing,
I'd be doing what this girl is doing

Altogether, the waiting and the anticipation was not at all pleasant.

But!  When I finished, I felt so proud of myself, I managed to do it without humiliating myself in front of a bunch of people.  Although, I seriously hope I didn't bore people too much.
I deserve pats on the shoulder, just like that :)
Yes, very well said...I couldn't put it any better myself.

Um, I overdid it with the GIFs, didn't I?  Ah well, it's better than just plain old texts, am I right, or am I right?

The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
Read: April 3-6, 2015

I don't know how I heard of this book, but I'm really glad I did! I saw it a few years ago, and put it on my TBR list, but I never got to it until now.

How in the world do gifs work...?

Did I do this right?
You should see a man eating stuff from a bowl on his head with two spoons...do you see it?
If you did: Yessssss!  I succeeded, if you didn't: dang it...back to the drawing board...

I've seen a lot of these gifs recently, and I've laughed at a lot of them, so I wanted to try using them too.

Part of the reason I wanted to start this blog is because I wanted to experiment with stuff, like gifs and blog templates, and stuff...

Oh, gosh! I just can't stop smiling at that guy shoveling who knows what into his mouth, I find it hilarious :)

Hello people...

Well, first of all, hello to the people who are reading this.  Although I absolutely have no idea how you found out about this.
Second of all, if you randomly stumbled upon this blog, please go back to the previous page you were on, there is nothing to see here, so move along. Bye!
Third of all: are you still reading this?

Anyways, if you still are, I guess you are interested in what I have to say.
Well, here's my story...kind of...
It all started a few hours ago when I had this crazy idea that I would write down all about the stuff that happens to me, (kinda like a diary) but then 1) I got lazy, and figured I'm too lazy to write all that, and 2) I might lose my diary.  So my brilliant idea was to write it all on here, so that 1) I won't have a permanent dent on my middle finger for writing so much, and 2) it's almost impossible for me to lose this, because I'll just Google it, and ta da! I found my diary!

I'm also hoping that by writing on here, I can improve my spontaneous writing skills, since I know my writing is less than perfect.
I probably might not even continue after this post, I quit stuff way too often, so maybe this is the last you'll ever hear of me...

...

Huh, so this is what is feels like to write a blog post...
