Reviews

Hello everyone.  I've loved reading books for as long as I can remember, but I've only started writing reviews for them a little over a year ago.  I have a confession: I don't like writing reviews.  I'm still new to whole concept, and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.  I'm self conscious like that.

I feel like there are so many unspoken rules when writing reviews, which I've yet to learn.  I know that some people don't like reading spoilers in reviews, but sometimes I feel like I can't properly express my feelings with this limitation...if you know what I mean...Sometimes I feel that my reviews don't cover everything or I ramble on and on about one specific part of the book.

Whenever I read someone's review of a book, I feel my reviews pale in comparison.  They analyze all the characters, they summarize the plot perfectly without sounding like the synopsis and without giving away any spoilers.  They sound good.  They sound so professional and elegant, whereas mine are just ramblings about stuff I think are okay to mention.  Some of them are so entertaining to read, and not just by adding the perfect gif, the words they phrase into sentences are so relatable, that I can't help but smile.

I do realize that there is no "perfect review", and everyone reads something that they interpret to mean something different from another person, but I just feel like I'm so off.  Mine isn't just different, it's wrong.

Anyways, I want to be able to write reviews with confidence, so I've decided to post reviews of books that I've read, here, as well as in Goodreads.  I feel it's the least I can do for the books that I've read and loved.
